ANKRD34B is a cytosolic phosphoprotein induced during differentiation of bone marrow (BM) cells into progenitor dendritic cells (DCs) (Al-Shaibi and Ghosh, 2004).
▼ Cloning and Expression
Al-Shaibi and Ghosh (2004) identified Ankrd34b, which they called Dp58, as a cytosolic 58-kD protein in mouse BM cells. Dp58 was present only in differentiating BM cells and was absent from DCs. The deduced Dp58 protein contains 508 amino acids. Western blot analysis confirmed that mouse Dp58 is a phosphoprotein.
Gross (2019) mapped the ANKRD34B gene to chromosome 5q14.1 based on an alignment of the ANKRD34B sequence (GenBank BC137441) with the genomic sequence (GRCh38).
